Your Prospect Pipeline – Where Are You Leaking?

  • Conni Ponturo

Loved it! Lynn thanks for taking the time to do this. I am checking my plumbing right now!

Very interesting presentation Lynn. I definitely need to spend more time on my web advertising, but my time is so limited. I will have to go over my website with a fine tooth comb and try to implement some of your points asap. Thanks.

    Hi Lynn,

So true in what you’re saying here with the leaky funnel, and it can often times take ane external set of eyes to see the problems that are so obvious, yet we get too close too ourselves, I’ve seen that time and time again.

Each of these areas are so deep, it would be fantastic for you to go further into detail on each of them as there are so many moving parts in each stage, I think the viewers would really find it beneficial.

Keep up the great content (and good drawings LOL :-)

@Connie – Awesome! You’re so great at what you do that I think you’ll only catch a few area to sure up.

@Todd – Thanks for watching the long video. I was concerned that people who may need it the most are also those with the least amount of time to work ON their business instead of in it. But it gives me some hope since you watched it – so thanks for your comment. Puts me at ease a bit about going into so much detail. I know you didn’t ask for my advice, but try to carve out time in your day where you can begin implementing some time to work on your business. You’ll find that you’ll start moving forward and setting new goals. I don’t know anything about your situation right now, but one of the first things people do is hire a part-time admin assistant. I know it sounds crazy at first… but that assistant can work on writing weekly newsletters, setting up the website content, answer phones, make sales calls, etc.

@Adam – Thanks for the comment! Yes, I’d love to go into more detail. It’s tricky because each area has tons of moving parts… and each business is different and needs different things. But my goal is to continue providing videos that get people out of their default business day. Albeit the videos going forward will be shorter most likely :)

@Stephen – I wish someone told me this stuff when I first started my business. It would have made those first few years easier and a lot more profitable :)

@Christine. I sent you/Ken a screenshot and video for your site. Let me know if you didn’t get it!

I am having some folks say don’t spend money on a website for your business, just concentrate on building a really good Facebook fan page. What are your thoughts?

    • http://www.personaltrainerwebsitedesign.com Lynn From InControl Websites

      Great question, Phil. Really great!

Here’s the problem with that statement… if you only have a FB page or profile you are TOTALLY dependent on another company, their rules, and their ability to not go under. Now many people laugh at that or don’t take it seriously, but it happens all the time.

Case in point – remember AOL… they were massive and now almost no one uses them. Remember MSN – they changed to Live and then they changed to Bing. Remember MySpace?

And FB is great. I love using them, but not relying on them. Actually just yesterday was the F8 conference and FB announced major changes that affect FB pages negatively. The most important and negative update is when a user ‘likes’ content within the Facebook platform, that content will no longer post to the user’s wall, meaning greatly decreased impressions for businesses.

That one change is massive for someone relying completely on FB pages.

I dunno… I’d use outside tools for what they are… but I would always have a hub that I control.

I didn’t even mention the pitfalls of search engine rankings, people who aren’t using FB or find it annoying (Google + is gaining major traction and Twitter is vying for a come back too) or what happens when FB changes the rules – which it does ALL the time.

I’d stay away from the advice you’re getting and only use FB as one way to reach potential leads. It’s not an end-all, be-all. Hope that helps.
